The Last 17 Days: 14 Days Left (Lyrics)

Upon becoming my friend on facebook, the first thing you'd notice is probably my love for song lyrics. I don't just sing along to them, I ponder them, I memorize them, I base my life on them. As silly as it sounds, I often relate my collection of song lyrics to the scriptures...you can find different meaning in the same verse at different times and you can better your life through them. I firmly believe this. These are the words that have popped into my mind more than the others. The ones that have actually caused me to change how I live my life. These are the most heavily marked and most frequently referrenced in my personal, musical scriptures, so to speak. It's interesting to see that most of these come from the bands I mentioned a couple of days ago. Feel free to look up the songs. In fact, it would mean a lot if you did. Here are the line, in order of their time of introduction into my life:

  • “Just give love to all.” -Lullaby by Creed
  • *“An experience of survival is the key to the gravity of love.” -Gravity of Love by Enigma
  • *“Just shine.” -Hamburg Song by Keane
  • “Light up, light up as if you have a choice. Even if you cannot hear my voice, I’ll be right beside you dear.” -Run by Snow Patrol
  • “Open to everything happy and sad, seeing the good when it’s all going bad. Seeing the sun when I can’t really see, hoping the sun will at least look at me. Focus on everything better today. All that I needed, I never could say. Hold on people, they’re slipping away. Hold on to this while it’s slipping away.” -Slipping Away by Moby
  • “When you feel embarrassed then I’ll be your pride. When you need directions then I’ll be the guide…for all time.” -Passenger Seat by Death Cab For Cutie
  • “Don’t waste your time or time will waste you.” -Knights of Cydonia by Muse
  • “Once I had this dream where everything’s as good as it seems and love was really all that we needed. I wish I’d never woke up.” -The Sky by The Junior Varsity
  • “Life is beautiful, but it’s complicated. We barely make it. We don’t need to understand. There are miracles.” -Life is Beautiful by Vega 4
  • “We are still far from over.” -Stall Out by Mute Math
  • “Be patient when waiting for the gold.” -Patience by Seabird
  • “Would you believe in my songs if I gave them all to you?” -Weathered by The Dangerous Summer
  • “Will you think of me in time? It’s never my luck, so never mind…I saw forever in my never and I stood outside her heaven.” -My Never by Blue October
  • “When you’re fighting to believe in a love that you can’t see, just know there is a purpose for those who wait.” -For Those Who Wait by Fireflight
  • “Never felt this way in my whole life. Never had this feeling before tonight. I can’t get you off my mind cause you shine girl, oh you know you shine.” -Shine by The Morning Of
  • “Don’t wanna get caught up dreaming of your love cause when I open my eyes, there’s not a shot in this life. I might as well give up and save all my good luck for when I’ve got the extra change. You can move aside cause now I’m wide awake.” -Wide Awake by Making April
  • "Always move fast.” -Always Move Fast by Lydia

The Last 17 Days: 15 Days Left (Books)

With my decision to devote myself to school, the viola, and other endeavors over the years, I've struggled to find the time to keep up my love for reading. Still, books are a big part of who I am (I am aspiring to write them for a living, after all...). These are the novels I'm quickest to recall, the ones I will reread first when I find the spare time, the ones that have played the biggest role in my life. Here they are, in the order of when I read them.
  • *Rowan of Rin by Emily Rodda
  • Deltora Quest Series by Emilly Rodda
  • The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

The Last 17 Days: 16 Days Left (Bands)

I'm just gonna warn you now, a bunch of these groups are going to have something to do with music.
